MHM Receives High Peer Review Rating

LEAWOOD, KAN, September 26, 2011 -- Mayer Hoffman McCann P.C. (MHM), one of the Top Ten accounting firms in the nation, is pleased to announce it has successfully completed a peer review of its accounting and auditing practice. The rigorous review, which was performed by Clifton Gunderson LLP, is based on standards issued by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). MHM received the highest possible rating of pass, which demonstrates MHM's commitment to quality.

"The positive peer review results are not only very important to us, but also to our clients and prospects," states Tim Follett, MHM's National Director of Quality Control. "One of the reasons clients select and continue to use MHM as their service provider is because of our focus on providing high quality work. The results are indicative of MHM's robust system of Quality Control."

The AICPA peer review is a well-respected program designed to enhance the quality of accounting, auditing and attestation services performed by AICPA members in public practice. It provides a process by which an accounting firm's accounting and auditing practice is reviewed by a peer firm to provide an independent assessment of the firm's system of quality control and compliance with professional accounting, auditing and attestation standards. With all of the recent changes in professional standards and the regulatory landscape impacting the accounting profession, peer review results are extremely important to accounting firms and the public they serve.

"Beyond the importance of the peer review, a steadfast commitment to quality work must be part of a firm's strategic vision -- so it can be considered with every firm activity, and woven into every aspect of client service," adds MHM President Bill Hancock. "Quality is vital to the continued growth and success of our firm. It has been, and will continue to be, one of our top priorities."
