Our roots can be traced back to 1954 when Ernest D. Mayer opened a small accounting practice in Kansas City, Missouri. After years of steady growth, Mayer Hoffman McCann spun-off its tax and consulting practice, which was merged into Century Business Services, Inc. (CBIZ) in 1998. Mayer Hoffman McCann continued as a CPA Firm specializing in attest services, and in 2002 we began our expansion into a national practice by adding CPAs to the firm's ownership from other high quality CPA firms. Like Mayer Hoffman McCann P.C., these firms previously merged or sold their tax and consulting practices to CBIZ and specialized in attest services.
